Rejections Suck, Even When They Have A Point...

I realize now that I sent my last fiction submission out too fast.(I have got to stop relying on that first-draft "I've created something!1" afterglow for my nerve to put stuff out there. it's sloppy.)
Although it's true that I've revised a number of stories and not have them come out, either, so, once again, that first fifth-grade research project has proven to be a poor guidepost for any other part of life.

This year I'm doing the Climate Strike

It's not so much that I believed in climate action last year less, just that it was hard to see what I do as work. My life sometimes feels like a bit of a playset, actually(except I need more fun hobbies than my quarterly resentment of Krysten Sinema) because a lot of decisions that many people in their mid-forties have been stripped away by bureaucracy and circumstance.
If I don't take myself seriously, nobody else will either, though.

For my Birthday, Support Amazon Watch...

I'd like this to be the biggest fundraiser I ever had. Amazon watch supports indigenous people and delicate ecosystems.

Another attempt to #AmplifyTheChildren

Maybe my son wants to live
In the picture we see on the television screen
Sometimes, of smiling wide streets with friendly
Puppets as neighbors and everyone smiling in all different colors.
Not a drab camp with foil blankets,
Not enough to eat, a smell of sweat, not freedom
It wasn’t supposed to be this way.
